India won their 12th consecutive Test Series at home, and extending their own world record. Its a record which has taken India more than 5 years to achieve, so it will be hard for any other team to break it. Kohli, as Captain, also got his 7th consecutive test match victory, which is the longest victory run by any Indian Captain. The Indian Test team is really enjoying a good run of form.

What better place to create records than the iconic Eden Gardens. Kohli also got to his 41st international century as a Captain, thus tying up with Ponting at the top of the table. It was also the first Day/Night Test match played by India, and they won in just a little over two days of play. They won by an innings and 46 runs.

Kohli and the team management will be proud of the fact, that India has not lost a single test series at home, under his Captaincy. His winning percentage as Captain is third best after Ponting and Waugh. Kohli is just 0.07% shy of Ponting. India’s next Test Series is an Away Series in New Zealand. New Zealand will provide seamer friendly conditions, and will much colder and windy than India.

The pace bowling attack of India can challenge any team now. All the 19 opposition wickets were taken by pace bowlers, inspite of the match being played in India. Two Indian spinners bowled a total of 06 overs only in the total match. Ishant Sharma took 09 wickets and Umesh Yadav took 08 wickets in the Test Match. Shami chipped in with the remaining two. One batsman got retired hurt. India still has Bumrah and Bhuvaneswar who can join the team, as they are out with injuries. Hardik Pandya is also a fast bowling all rounder who was unfit for the just completed series.
