Three Indian Women Archers will be trying to earn one Olympic Quota for India in Individual Category tomorrow. The Men have already qualified as a team, so they are not competing in the Olympic qualifiers. Deepika Kumari from India is the top seeded Archer in the Qualification tournament. Bombayla Devi and Ankit Bhakat will also by throwing bows to earn quota place tomorrow.

The Men’s Team has also qualified for the Olympics already, hence three male archers can participate in the indvidual events also. The individual quota will at least ensure participation in the Women’s and Mixed Events both. Irrespective of the results here, the Indian Women’s Team, will try for the Team quota at the Berlin World Cup next year.
The overall performance of India at the Asian Championships will make them happy. They had to go to the Competition without the honour of representing the Indian flag as the Archery Association is banned by World Archery. Unfortunately Compound Archery is not competed in Olympics, only Recurve Archery is competed in five Categories.
With the Asian Archery tournament completed, the focus shifts on the Olympic qualification tournament tomorrow. Deepika Kumari is expected to make the cut, and she is the top seed for this tournament tomorrow. Her fiancee Atanu Das already has earned an Olympic quota as part of the Men’s Team. If she qualifies, then she will team up with Atanu for the Mixed Event. The Gold Medal before the marriage will be the biggest event of Indian Archery then, if they can win in the Mixed Category.
